Power Supplies for Voice Alarming Systems (VAS)

The power supplies of Voice Alarming Systems, in accordance with the obligatory requirements from the A2 change to the EN 54-4 standard of 1 September 2009, have been extended with a measuring system composed of the RMB-1 battery resistance meter and the CP-100 DC sensors in each battery string. The requirement of high battery resistance signalization is also included in the EN 54-16 standard for the VAS central by referring to it in EN 54-4. Adaptation of the power supplies to the A2 change is a necessary and sufficient condition to continue to fulfill the complete VAS requirements for the approval on which their conformity certificate is based. Testing the battery circuit resistance (backup power source) increases the reliability of the power system and, as a result, the entire VAS.
